Headed for TroubleBy Cathy Clamp

When Neve McKay returns to her hometown to heal after fleeing an abusive relationship, she doesn’t expect to find anything other than solace and love from her family. But Scotsman Ian Campbell, a new resident and friend of her brother, is hard to ignore.

Even as she’s rebuilding family ties and beginning new ones, her old life is shadowing her footsteps, threatening everything she’s found. Does she dare fall for the new bad boy in town when his life will be at risk? How far is her abuser willing to go?

Shiloh Walker sat down with The Big Thrill to talk about the first of this new series, one Publishers Weekly calls a “fast-paced contemporary romance [that] readers will look forward to.”

Tell us about your new series.

HEADED FOR TROUBLE is the first in a new trilogy, a perfect book for readers to pick up.

Are either of the characters ones that readers will recognize from another book?

No, they are all new.

Most writers do research for a book. What’s the most interesting thing you discovered while you were writing this book—whether or not it actually made it into the book?

Hmmm…several things. I learned that wine has like 1500 chemical compounds in it—the brother owns a winery. Also, Scotland has some pretty strict laws regarding domestic abuse. America could probably learn a few things from them.

It’ll be nearly the New Year when readers can get their hands on this. What might Neve and Ian do for New Years Eve and what would happen at midnight?

Well, Ian’s a dirty kind of boy. He challenges Neve to a game of dirty scrabble. He might do that. Pizza, beer, dirty scrabble. He doesn’t mind parties and crowds, but he also loves having her all to himself so that would probably his favorite way to ring in the New Year and he’d time it just right so that when midnight rolled around, he’d have a word up like naked or kiss or oral…and then she’d blush and he’d laugh and then he’d…well, follow through.

Will you be touring as part of the release? Where can readers get a signed copy?

I’m not doing a tour, but I will be signing at Turn the Page in February and readers can pre-order copies once the pre-order link goes live, probably in January. Once info is live, you can find pre-order info at the website. They’ll ship pre-ordered, personalized copies anywhere on the planet. I also tend to hit local area bookstores, so if you live in the Kentuckiana area, you can always look at your local Barnes & Noble or Booksamillion. They might have signed stock.

Where do you hang out online?

Aside from my Facebook, Twitter, and website [listed below], I have a photo-blog of sorts with pictures I’ve taken.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming thrillers for readers to watch for?

The next two books in the trilogy will be out in 2016, The Trouble with Temptation and The Right Kind of Trouble. I’ve got another project, but I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it yet. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Anything else you’d like readers to know about you or your books?

You can read more about them on my website.

Sounds like a great read. Thanks for dropping by to talk to the readers.

Thanks for having me back!
