A copycat killer lurks the city streets replicating famous London murder cases, but as the police investigate, everything is not what it seems!
On his last day of patrolling the streets of London’s Square Mile before taking up the mantle of a detective in this small but important police force, Police officer Sam Hayes discovers a headless corpse inside a sleeping bag, while a few hundred yards away inside the walls of the Tower of London, a yeoman warder makes another gruesome discovery in a litter bin on Tower Green — the historic site of executions. Baffled that the victim remains unidentified, the Murder Investigation Team suddenly get a visit from MI5 case officer, Pippa Homewood. As more killings occur, Sam soon finds himself drawn into Pippa’s clandestine world of espionage to track down the perpetrator.
