Until Thomas came along, Frank Hodge wasn't a real hero, he just played one on the radio.

Set in the 1940’s, a young boy- Thomas Malloy, witnesses the murder of his parents and narrowly escapes his own death. He sets out to find the only man that can help him: The Scarlet Scrapper. The only problem is that the Scarlet Scrapper doesn’t exist in the real world, and Frank Hodge, the man who voices him, is no hero; he just plays one on the radio.

Hodge, dealing with demons of his own, must decide if he will continue down his own disastrous path, or become the hero that Thomas needs him to be.
