From the multi-genre, award-winning author of eleven traditionally published novels, Lisa de Nikolits, comes a modern-day noir caper with gangster villains of old and a glamorous kick-ass heroine.

Jessica Wren is a kept woman. Kept by Enzo Esposito, a mobster whose mother, Grace, wants him to run for mayor. The Espositos run organized crime in a major city.

Enzo is crazy about Weegee (the press photographer from 1930-1960). Jessica’s father murdered her mother while she, as a seven-year-old child, looked on. Her father then killed himself by hanging himself or was he murdered by her sister, Glennis Rustad…

Jessica dresses like a 50’s movie star and she falls in love with Joey who she meets at the foster home. Joey’s no good and when he’s arrested for bank robbery and goes to prison, he breaks Jessica’s heart.

Murder, drug running, organized crime and danger, this book has it all, in a hard-boiled satirical style laced with dark humor.

Jessica will need all her wits to beat them all at their game and the reader is kept on the edge of their seat until the last page.
