What is a fun/unusual/unexpected fact about yourself that has nothing to do with writing?
I really like The Bold and the Beautiful (couldn’t tell you why) . It’s not available to watch in New Zealand so I watch if via my partners iPad from Australia.
Planner, Pantser, or Plantser (in the middle)?
Panster most of my writing life but these days I might be leaning towards the middle.
What are five things you need in order to write (like a laptop, music, notebook and pen, coffee, etc.)?
MacBook, notebook, a really good pen, music (actual songs not instrumental stuff), either the dog or one of the cats.
Where is your favorite place to write?
My bedroom: standing rather than sitting but also the lounge sitting on the sofa.
What is your favorite outlet for creativity outside of writing?
Playing around with graphics.
Where is your favorite place to set a story? Have you ever been there?
Upper Hutt – I live there and it’s such a fun place to set Spy/PI novels.

D’artagnan

Cardinal Richelieu

A tiny gnome.

Which book was the biggest struggle for you to write, and why? Which book was the easiest, and why?
Flashbyte was the hardest to write due to two different timelines and five separate but converging story lines. It was hard but satisfying when it all came together.
The easiest to write … I don’t think there is an easiest but there is one that was the more fun to write than a few others and that was [Indigo Romeo Lima] because I learnt a lot about one the side characters.
Did you face any rejection when you began to write?
Of course. It’s character building.
