Soap Lake is a real town in rural Washington State, and the mineral lake itself has long been renowned as a place for healing. In 2003, my wife and I moved from Boston to Soap Lake (population 1,500) and stayed in the region for 16 years. It is a magical and spooky place… a perfect setting for a creepy mystery.
