Two of Randall Krzak’s novels are semi-finalists for the 2018 Global Thriller awards, The Kurdish Connection and DANGEROUS ALLIANCE. He took time out of his busy schedule to speak with The Big Thrill about his latest thriller, DANGEROUS ALLIANCE:

What attracts you to this book’s genre?

My favorite authors include Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, and others. Their influence led me to trying something in the same genre.

What was the biggest challenge this book presented? What about the biggest opportunity?

The biggest challenge was the large cast of characters and trying to ensure I picked foreign names which would be relatively easy to pronounce.

The biggest opportunity was the research efforts required, which expanded my knowledge of the geographical areas.

Which took shape first: plot, character, or setting?

Plot first and then I worked on the setting and characters as I wrote my outline.
