The Big Thrill was fortunate to catch up with award-winning author Ammar Habib to & discuss the thriller, ANA ROCHA: SHADOWS OF JUSTICE, co-written with Glenda Mendoza.

What do you hope readers will take away from this book?

We hope that not only will readers find this character-driven thriller entertaining, but that it will lend them a view of some unsung sacrifices that many honest law enforcement officials make in carrying out their duty.

How does this book make a contribution to the genre?

Since the co-author, Glenda, is an actual police official with over two decades of experience in law enforcement, including experience working as a narcotics investigator, this novel is very authentic and true to life. That is something readers will definitely connect with!

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about your book that we won’t find in the jacket copy or the PR material?

Ana Rocha is going to rock the reader’s world! This novel has a lot of excitement and thrills, but it remains a character driven work at heart. It’s a roller coaster of emotions that will have readers on the edge of their seats in one scene and in tears by the next!

Glenda Mendoza has two decades of law enforcement experience serving in the Greater Houston Area. She has served in many capacities, including working as a Deputy Jailer, Patrol Officer, Narcotics Investigator, Special Investigative Unit Agent, involving various vice investigations and a District Attorney Investigator. Her experiences helped keep this novel authentic and ensured that Ana Rocha’s character remained true to life. Glenda currently works as a Threat Management Detective, working mental health investigations and criminal investigations involving threats of danger.
