In her novel, IMMORTALLY YOURS, NEW YORK TIMES best selling author Angie Fox unleashes a story so interesting that the Romantic Times Book Review says, “A new talent just hit the urban fantasy genre, and she has a genuine gift for creating dangerously hilarious drama.”

In the story, Paranormal MASH surgeon Petra Robichaud is hell bent on doing anything she can to end a massive supernatural war.  Good thing, because she’s just met a renegade special ops officer who is going to push her to her limits.  He’ll take her to hell and back.  And if he seduces her along the way?  All’s fair in love and war.

Angie Fox is the New York Times bestselling author of several books about vampires, werewolves and things that go bump in the night. She is best known for her Accidental Demon Slayer urban fantasy series. She is also writing a series about a group of paranormal MASH surgeons. The first book in the Monster MASH trilogy, titled IMMORTALLY YOURS, is due out from St. Martin’s Press in August 2012. Angie has also contributed to several short story collections and will be releasing the fifth book in the Accidental Demon Slayer series this December.

I caught up with Angie a few days ago and had a chance to ask her a few questions.

Is there anything special you’d like to tell us about IMMORTALLY YOURS?

Sure.  It’s a thriller that takes place in a paranormal MASH camp and in the dusty, desert battlefields of Limbo.  The gods are at war.  If the armies are evenly matched, they’ll kill each other, which is bad enough.  If one side gets the upper hand, it triggers earthquakes, tsunamis, disasters of biblical proportions on earth.

There’s no end in sight, until a special ops commander discovers a paranormal MASH surgeon with one-of-a-kind power that can turn the tide.  Then it’s a race against time as armies collide and the gods – seeing the threat to their dominion over life and death – broker a deal that could send every mortal straight to hell.

Did any particular event inspire the plot?

It wasn’t an event, as much as a desire to step out on a ledge and write something different.  I loved the idea of a race against time in order to thwart the gods.  And if I wanted to play amateur psychologist, I’d say this book is my statement against the seemingly insurmountable forces that seek to control our daily lives.  Plus, IMMORTALLY YOURS was simply a fun book to write.  It was a great challenge to construct a new world that is starker than ours, yet holds many of the same challenges.

What are you doing to promote your book?

Well before I was an author, I was in advertising, so I have a lot of fun with creative marketing.  For IMMORTALLY YOURS, I’m going to offer readers an interactive experience that centers on the news network that is covering the immortal war.

In this new series, PNN is the paranormal version of CNN.  And while in the books I use PNN to show the brutal effects of war, I also use it to poke fun at the love/hate relationship I have with 24-hour cable news.  Let’s face it – some of it is truly ridiculous.

So I’ve set up the “official” PNN website to be like THE ONION, only paranormal.  It allows me to feed the creative monster, while giving readers a taste of the series and immersing them in the world of PNN.  PNN kicks off at www.PNN-Network.com on August 23.  The Twitter handle is @PNN_News 13, and on Facebook, it’s simply PNN.

What’s next?

The Monster MASH series is a trilogy, so IMMORTALLY EMBRACED releases in April 2013.  Then IMMORTALLY EVER AFTER, is due out in August 2013.  I’m also releasing the fifth book in my Accidental Demon Slayer series in January 2013.

When you’re not writing, what are you doing (hobbies, Family, etc.)?

I read – way too much.  I’m also a big University of Missouri football fan and I like to travel.

A couple of Favorite Jacket Blurbs.

“Fun, humorous, and reminiscent of Charlaine Harris or Kim Harrison’s books.” – SACRAMENTO BOOK REVIEW.

“Fabulously fun.” – CHICAGO TRIBUNE.
