When a drought reveals a child-size skeleton, the marshal of Dukaine, Indiana is certain the bones belong to an eight year old boy who disappeared nineteen years earlier. When the the marshal is shot, the investigation falls on a young deputy who quickly becomes a suspect, leaving him little time to prove himself innocent, and find out if the boy is really dead, or has returned to town for revenge.

Larry D. Sweazy won the WWA Spur award for Best Short Fiction in 2005, was nominated for a Derringer award in 2007. He has published over 50 non-fiction articles and short stories.

Larry is also the author of the Josiah Wolfe, Texas Ranger western series (Berkley) for which he won the 2011 Will Rogers Medallion Award and 2011 Best Books of Indiana Award. The Devil’s Bones (Five Star) is his first thriller.
