A mathematics and philosophy major with an adventurous spirit, Tim served in the Green Berets where he learned Russian and specialized in Soviet counterintelligence, but switched from espionage to arbitrage with the fall of the Berlin Wall. After working a couple years as a Foreign Exchange Trader, he returned to school to earn an MBA from Wharton, but it was his concurrent Masters in International Studies that steered Tim’s career.

Moving to Moscow in the midst of Perestroika, then Brussels during the formation of the EU, and eventually landing in Silicon Valley, Tim has enjoyed a globetrotting career in the medical device industry. Equally active outside the boardroom, Tim has climbed the peaks of Mount Olympus, hang glided the cliffs of Rio de Janeiro, and parachuted into places undisclosed. He walked the Serengeti with a Maasai warrior, worked medical experiments with an orbiting cosmonaut, and crossed the Atlantic with the Gorbachevs. While none of his adventures were intended as research for his thrillers, they certainly help.

Addicted to reading thrillers since 1994, Tim has been writing them since 2004. He lives with his wife Elena and their two daughters in California. Tim can be reached at timtigner.com.
